Hi, I’m Erin Turner.
I live in Dallas, Texas with my husband and our dog, Frankie. In November of 2020, I was diagnosed with Chronic Lyme Disease after months of debilitating symptoms, but over a decade of other mystery symptoms. After almost a year of suffering, I quit my stressful, corporate job and began training to become an Integrative Health Practitioner. In that time, I began treatment for my Lyme disease, mold toxicity, and a dysregulated nervous system. After just 8-9 months, I felt 30% better. That may not seem like much, but true healing takes time.
I think that the majority of chronic ailments can be healed and I want to help you find relief. I truly believe I went through this experience so that I could help you through your journey to wellness. If you have chronic, mystery symptoms or doctors have told you that your only hope is to manage your symptoms with medication, book a free discovery call with me and we can talk about it!
My story
I’d been in and out of doctors’ offices for as long as I could remember. It started when I was in elementary school and began having trouble sleeping after (what I thought was) a minor traumatic experience. As the problem grew worse, I eventually was put on a prescription medication that resolved my issues temporarily. When I went off to college, I was placed in a dorm with a severe mold problem, not knowing the future problems it would cause me. I assumed that the constant sinus infections (that I treated with several rounds of antibiotics) were a result of my new city, and the depression was chalked up to freshman year homesickness. I read online about the symptoms of Lyme disease one day while attempting to put the puzzle pieces together and asked my doctor to test me for it, which she refused because “Lyme disease doesn’t exist in Texas” despite me telling her I remember a tick bite. My periods got progressively worse and I was put on birth control, and eventually I was crying daily - to which the solution was a higher dose of my antidepressant. Not once did any of these doctors attempt to figure out why this was happening to me (sound familiar?).
When I graduated college, I moved in with a friend and began to have severe allergies, trouble swallowing/breathing, and an astronomical resting heart rate that landed me in the ER several times. They told me I was taking too much Benadryl for my allergies (even though I wasn’t taking more than the recommended dose) and sent me home each time. I then saw an allergist to get tested and begin allergy immunotherapy, which required that I be off of antihistamines for 7 days - I couldn’t even function one day without them. The doctor put me on prednisone to get me through the 7 days and it triggered daily panic attacks for months. I had no clue what was happening to me, but I knew something was seriously wrong. To combat the panic, I was put on an SSRI on top of the antidepressant I was already on. Aside from the extreme weight gain, things seemed to return to normal. Then, the pandemic started and everything shut down….the week I was supposed to get married. The stress from cancelling a wedding, social deprivation, and a new, insensitive boss that got hired the same week, sent my health spiraling.
It was at this point that my mom recommended a functional practitioner who had me tested for Lyme disease and mold toxicity. I was lucky to test positive for Lyme on the first test, as most chronic, old Lyme infections rarely show up. Seeing a positive Lyme test and high mold load brought my entire life of symptoms into focus. Now, I’m treating my overall toxicity with diet, lifestyle changes, and supplements.
My Approach
The onset of illness, in all its forms, comes as a result of toxic overload in the body. Whether you have seasonal allergies or Rheumatoid Arthritis, those didn’t happen without cause. My goal is to help you bring down your toxic load to get you feeling like your best self again (or maybe for the first time!).
How?
There are a few ways to go about this, and every person is different. If you’d like to skip the testing and go after general toxicity, we can absolutely do that with supplements, lifestyle changes, and biohacking.
If you’d like a little more clarity about what’s going on inside your body, you can run a bioresonance test through Creating Balanced Health, a regular blood lab test, or both.
WHat is bioresonance?
Bioresonance can show us more insight than regular blood testing. Using hair and saliva samples, Creating Balanced Health tests the stress of your body through the samples’ energetic reaction to various substances (like Lyme bacteria, gluten, etc.).
